The new port of Gulluk docking area is geographically situated in Lat.37 15,3’N and Long.027 36,3’E.
Port of Gulluk area is divided into two as an inner harbour and an outer harbour.
- The “Inner Harbour” zone is in the Northeast sea area of Lat.37º 14' 16"N and Long.27º 35' 23"E Gulluk lantern and connecting with the line of Lat.37º 14' 50"N and Long. 27º 34' 00"E of Abanoz Island.
- The “Outer Harbour” zone is connecting with Lat.37º 13' 45"N and Long.27º 30' 50"E of Incegol lantern cape and Lat.37º 11' 40"N from the Northeast to the inner harbour zone.
The new port of Gulluk docking area is intended for cargo vessels approaching to the port on commercial purposes.
Ships entering to the port will be seen in turn and arranged by the harbour master. If there is any risk to health and safety, one of loading or discharging ships will be taken to a temporary anchorage. The anchoraged ship approaches to the port will be rearranged by the harbour master.
Harbours have the powers to regulate the entry and movement of ships within ports to ensure safety of navigation.
Ports have rules in byelaws and directions which every user must obey as a condition of his or her right to use the harbour.
Harbour authorities have a duty to make proper use of powers to make byelaws, and to give directions (including pilotage directions), to regulate all vessel movements in their waters.
The port has 4 approaching space with length of dockage is 346m. Depth of the water is 6m – 12m for the short dockage and 12m – 14,5m for the long dockage. With these properties the port is able to serve ships with 50.000 dwt tonnes.
Vessels are free to anchor in the outer harbour.
